FAMILY LAW ASSISTANCE NETWORK STAFF ATTORNEY

Sneha Mody (she/her) earned her J.D. in 2002 from Hofstra University School of Law and her undergraduate degree at Bucknell University in 1999.  She is also a certified mediator. Sneha recently worked with the National Women’s Law Center as Senior Counsel Intake Attorney, where she reviewed and responded to education and reproductive health-care-related intakes for the Legal Network for Gender Equity.  She volunteered as an Advocacy Chair for  BRAWS (Bringing Resources to Women in Shelters), where she fundraised and advocated for tampon tax repeal in DC.  

Sneha previously worked with the Office of Career Services as Assistant Director, J.D. Division, at New York University School of Law, where she served as a student counselor and a primary liaison with students.  Prior to her role at NYU Law, Sneha worked at Safe Horizon (a victim service organization) as a staff attorney and represented individual clients in city-wide Family and Supreme Courts, supervised junior staff attorneys, and provided outreach, advocacy, and training to community-based programs on the legal rights of victims of domestic violence.  

Furthermore, while at Safe Horizon, Sneha was promoted to serve as the Senior Director of Legal Services, where she managed all aspects of a legal services program in the areas of Domestic Violence and Immigration Law.  She started off her legal career at Kelley Drye & Warren in NYC as a labor and employment attorney.

When she’s not busy carpooling her kids to their various sporting activities, Sneha enjoys travel, reading, and working out.
