Georgetown University Law Center and DCALF are now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 DC Affordable Law Firm Signature LL.M. Fellowship Program. This distinctive fellowship offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for rising lawyers committed to social justice and public interest lawyering to play a vital role in expanding access to justice for modest- and lower-income residents of the District of Columbia while earning an advanced law degree from Georgetown Law. Fellows will deliver direct legal representation, advice, and advocacy to DC residents facing civil legal challenges in one or more of DCALF’s core practice areas: family law, immigration law, and probate and estate planning. DCALF’s clients are DC residents whose household incomes—up to 400% of the Federal Poverty Level—often place them just beyond the reach of traditional legal aid, yet still in urgent need of free or affordable legal assistance. Fellows will play a pivotal role in advancing DCALF’s mission to challenge systemic inequities and eliminate barriers to legal representation by providing a wide range of direct civil legal services that strengthen clients’ economic security and ensure access to high-quality legal assistance, regardless of financial means. Fellows will earn a fully funded LL.M. in Advocacy from Georgetown Law for successful completion of the 15-month program.
