Operations Manager

Kristen Zory King joined the DC Affordable Law Firm as Operations Manager in January 2024 and works alongside the Chief Operating Officer and organizational leadership to maintain day to day office, administrative, and operational matters. Prior and concurrent to her work at DCALF, Kris has focused her career at the intersections of accessible community programming, creativity and wellness, leading programming, operations, and fundraising efforts at cultural institutions across the United States and working across a wide variety of teams to ensure exemplary and smooth logistical support and success. Kris brings her diverse functional experience with nonprofit and community-centric organizations to support DCALF's engagements and clients in a wide range of capacities.

Kris graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Fredonia, where she majored in English Literature and minored in French. In addition to her work as a nonprofit administrator, Kris is also a writer, teaching artist, and yoga instructor and teaches regularly at fitness studios, bookstores, and community centers throughout the DMV. She is a six-time recipient of the DC Commission on Arts and Humanities Fellowship, a 2023 "Create and Thrive" Teaching Artist, a 2022 Nancy Ludmerer Flash Fiction Fellow, a 2021 Humanities Fellow with Many Languages One Voice, and an alum of the 5th Woman Fellowship in Knoxville, TN and the 202Creates Residency Program in Washington, DC, where she has also served as a mentor.
