TODD KOWALSKI (HE/HIM)
DCALF FELLOW
Todd Kowalski joined DC Affordable Law Firm in August 2025. He graduated magna cum laude from American University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a minor in Law & Society. For three years after graduation, Todd worked as a Staff Investigator at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, where he helped represent indigent clients in criminal cases facing the loss of their liberty.
Todd attended Georgetown University Law Center as a Blume Public Interest Law Scholar. While in school, he participated in the Center for Applied Legal Studies clinic where he represented clients seeking political asylum in the United States. He also participated in the Criminal Defense & Prisoner Advocacy Clinic, where he represented clients in misdemeanor cases in D.C. Superior Court and in supervised release matters before the United States Parole Commission.
After graduating from Georgetown Law cum laude in 2023, Todd clerked for Judge Robert Okun of the D.C. Superior Court for two years. Working on both criminal and civil cases, Todd burnished his legal research and writing skills while getting the opportunity to observe different styles of effective advocacy in the courtroom. Todd looks forward to joining DCALF to continue his commitment to delivering zealous representation to clients who are often overlooked by the legal system.
