DCALF FELLOW

Sidney Benitah joined DC Affordable Law Firm in August 2025. Sidney came to DCALF with an interest in immigration and family law and a desire to provide legal services to individuals from modest- and lower-income households and vulnerable communities who lack representation. Sidney received a B.A. in Government and International Politics from George Mason University. During her third year of university, she studied abroad for one year at Sciences Po, Political School in Paris, France, where she delved into human rights law through her coursework. At the early start of her career, she interned as a legal assistant at Lawyers Without Borders in Washington DC, and Gate Gourmet Inc. Legal Department in Virginia.

Sidney graduated summa cum laude from UDC David A. Clarke School of Law in Washington DC. While in law school, Sidney worked part time as a program analyst at the United States Marshals Service within the Judicial Security Division, Field Support Branch. As a student she represented an asylum seeker and a parolee through the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic and has also participated in the Whistle Blower Clinic. Sidney served as an immigration research assistant at UDC law. She has interned at the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights Legal Internship, within the Immigration Impact Lab.

Sidney is currently pursuing an LL.M. in Advocacy through Georgetown University Law Center.
