LESLIE FENTON (SHE/HER)
FAMILY LAW SUPERVISING ATTORNEY
Leslie Fenton joined DC Affordable Law Firm (DCALF) in October 2025. Leslie supervises DCALF’s family law practice, mentoring attorneys and fellows and guiding the provision of compassionate, trauma-responsive legal representation.
Leslie brings more than fifteen years of public service experience spanning civil legal services, foreign and domestic policy, and organizational leadership. Before joining DCALF, she served as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State in Jerusalem, Ho Chi Minh City, and Washington D.C., where she led crisis response operations, advised senior officials on human rights policy, and provided direct support to U.S. citizens in distress.
Earlier in her career, Leslie served as Assistant Chief Counsel at the California Department of Health Care Services, directing legal strategy for Medi-Cal behavioral health programs and supervising a team of attorneys. She began her career in civil legal aid, representing survivors of domestic violence and individuals with disabilities at Legal Aid Chicago, Disability Rights Louisiana, and Southeast Louisiana Legal Services.
Leslie earned her J.D. from the New York University School of Law and her B.A. in Gender Studies, cum laude, from the University of Chicago. She is a member of the District of Columbia and California Bars and is dedicated to ensuring that all DC residents can access affordable, high-quality civil legal representation.
