ALEX EDUARDO CUBAS (HE/HIM/ÉL)

DCALF FELLOW AND ASSOCIATE

Alex Eduardo Cubas joined DC Affordable Law Firm as a member of the class of 2026-2027 Signature LL.M. Fellowship Program. He is excited to join DCALF and work directly with clients across immigration, family, and probate matters, helping them navigate significant legal challenges through compassionate, client-centered advocacy.

Alex graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 2026. At Georgetown, he developed a strong commitment to public interest law through his work in the Civil Rights Clinic, where he represented clients in federal litigation and was part of the team that litigated an appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Through the clinic, he gained experience managing discovery, drafting briefs, and communicating directly with clients and opposing counsel. He also interned with the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, where he worked on civil rights investigations and police accountability matters, and with the U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division, Office of Policy and Legislation, where he researched issues related to federal criminal justice policy.

Before law school, Alex graduated summa cum laude from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Criminology. As the son of Honduran immigrants and a first-generation law student, his experiences inspired his commitment to making high-quality legal representation more accessible to underserved communities. He is excited to continue that commitment through DCALF's mission of providing affordable, high-quality legal services to the Washington, D.C. community.
