ISABELLE GILGES
(SHE/HER)

Associate & DCALF Fellow

Isabelle Gilges joined DC Affordable Law Firm in August 2023. She joined DCALF with a passion for providing public legal services to underserved communities, particularly in family law matters.

Isabelle graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2019, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and majored in English. She then spent a year working as a law clerk for a plaintiff’s law firm, where she worked primarily on cases involving survivors of childhood sexual abuse in the foster care system. This experience fueled her decision to apply to law school, and in August 2020, she began law school at Georgetown University Law Center.

During her time at Georgetown Law, Isabelle represented domestic violence survivors in Georgetown’s Domestic Violence Clinic and served as co-president of Advocates Against Sexual Violence, a student organization dedicated to gender-based violence issues in the law.

Many of her internship experiences were family law-focused, including working in the family defense practice at the Bronx Defenders and as a clerk at a private family law firm, McDonough Law. Isabelle graduated from Georgetown Law with a J.D. in May 2023, and is continuing her education at Georgetown Law, pursuing an L.L.M. in advocacy.
